The story of Vendasta

We didn’t start with a product. We started with a problem—millions of small businesses struggling to grow in a digital world. In 2008, we built our first tools to help them compete. Listings. Reviews. Social. Then we scaled. Fast. Agencies, MSPs, and franchises joined us to serve their clients under one brand.

OUR HISTORY

Timeline of Vendasta’s history

2008
MyFrontSteps is established, securing $3 million in venture funding, and VendAsta is founded with a sail-inspired logo and a new office space.
2009
StepRep, a reputation management platform, is developed alongside MyFrontSteps. StepRep quickly gains popularity as a free tool, leading to the company's shift in focus.
2010
StepRep evolves into a white-label Reputation Management platform, generating the company's first revenue.
2011
VendAsta expands and launches the SMB-facing dashboard Business Center (now Business App) the following year.
2013
VendAsta secures venture capital funding and introduces Social Marketing and Marketing Services.
2014
VendAsta reaches 100 employees and launches its CRM Sales & Success Center.
2015
The Company rebrands as Vendasta and earns a spot on the 'Deloitte Technology' Fast 50' list.
2016
Listing Sync Pro, Marketing Services, and the Vendasta blog are launched. Vendasta is named to Canadian Business Magazine's Growth 500.
2017
VendastaCon is hosted in Austin, Texas, introducing the wholesale Marketplace, Concierge (now Task Manager), and Website Pro.
2018
The Conquer Local Podcast is launched, and VendastaCon takes place in Banff, introducing Customer Voice and Advertising Intelligence.
2019
VendastaCon is rebranded as the Conquer Local Conference in San Diego. Vendasta secures $40 million in growth funding its Marketplace, and moves to new headquarters.
2020
Vendasta launches the Local Business Online Toolkit and the ConquerLocal Community and Academy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2021
Vendasta secures a historic $119.5 million in financing, welcomes CalenderHero to the team, and opens it's new headquarters at Vendasta Square.
2022
In january, Vendasta acquires MatchCraft, a leading global software company specializing in search, display, and social media advertising solutions for digital marketing agencies and resellers. In March, Vendasta acquires Yesware, integrating its sales enablement technology into the platform.
2023
Vendasta acquires Broadly Inc., expanding it's customer engagement offerings.
